Arts Development Manager, Brighton & Hove City Council
Branwen has supported the arts for over twenty-five years in a range of roles and contexts.
At an early stage in her working life Branwen worked as a primary school teacher using creative pedagogy to deliver all the curriculum areas. This then led her to work for the New Zealand Ministry of Education, setting up residencies that brought visual artists into a range of curriculum areas in schools.
During this time, she also developed a programme within Universities across New Zealand, that aimed to equip art students with practical skills needed to develop a professional art practice.
On her return to England in 2010 she worked as Programme Manager on the national Creative Partnerships programme based at the University of Portsmouth. This programme supported schools by developing project collaborations between artists, students, teachers and creative agents across the South East of England. This continued Branwen’s work using creative pedagogy to support school development. She is currently the Arts Development Manager at Brighton & Hove City Council.
