Producer Top-Up is a PAID development scheme for mid-career dance producers and self-producing dance artists who identify as underrepresented based in the South East. Taking place in Brighton and online, it’s a space to reflect on and invest in your practice and uncover solutions to challenges currently facing the dance sector. We are the future of the sector. By working collaboratively and creatively, and undertaking research alongside peers, we have an opportunity to develop thinking and affect change. 

 

Over 5.5 days spread across June – September 2022, the scheme involves: 
  • Group coaching and visioning for the future of your career with Mel Larson 
  • Specialist innovation workshops and facilitated conversations from sector experts, covering:
    • Anti-racism, Jenny Williams BEM, Take the Space & Revoluton
    • Reaching under-represented audiences, Hardish Virk, Coventry Arts Space & Jaivant Patel Company
    • Working with disabled artists and audiences, Ellie Liddell-Crewe, Unlimited
    • Safeguarding the artist and inclusive practice, Stuart Waters
    • Centering genderqueer creativity and care, Orrow Amy Bell, The Place
    • Producing work about the Climate Emergency, Gavin Barlow, The Albany + Lucy Latham for Q&A
    • Alternative touring models, Rajpal Pardesi & Lucy White, Greenwich Dance
    • Producing digitally immersive work, Alli Beddoes, Brighton Digital Festival
    • Navigating Challenges, Zerritha Brown & Laetitia Butler, London Borough of Culture – Brent 2020
  • 1-1 Mentoring and action planning to embed learning into your practice and projects, with Kyla Booth-Lucking & Vicky Thornton, Clearcut.

 

This is a PAID opportunity for freelance dance producers and self-producing artists with 5-10 years professional experience that identify as underrepresented in the sector and are based in the South East of England.
