We have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Cultural Summit due to take place on 30 March. This is very disappointing to us because we are excited by the opportunity to meet and explore how to encourage more participation in the arts.
The situation with the coronavirus (Covid-19) is fast changing and we understand many in the city will want to focus time and energy on essential issues at this difficult time. While at present there is no advice from government banning large gathering of friends and colleagues, we’re keen for as many people as possible to take part in this event and we are aware many are choosing to avoid meetings at this time.
We hope to be able to reconvene this important event later in the year during the winter so we can come together to celebrate our city’s cultural successes, and plan for a brighter, more inclusive arts environment for all of our residents. In the meantime, we are considering a virtual event to talk through the impact of Covid-19 on you as artists, practitioners and venue managers.
We will email shortly on this, and please get in touch if you could like to contribute.
