This role is ideal for an ambitious, highly motivated, hands on, professional arts/culture manager who can operate effectively within a corporate environment whilst managing multiple external partnerships. Experienced at preparing funding bids and seeing emerging opportunities for further sector development, the successful candidate will produce complex reports for internal and external purposes.
As Strategic Manager Arts, Culture & Creative Industries you’ll report to the Assistant Director – Culture, Tourism & Sport and focus on:
- Developing and delivering the city’s arts, culture and creative industries strategy and action plans
- Supporting artists and creative business to flourish by strong and inclusive communication, collaborative planning, and the ability to drive investment in the cultural and creative industries
- Collaborating with a diverse range of artists, developers and project managers to embed public art into the fabric of Brighton & Hove to reflect its unique history, diverse communities, creativity, innovation and energy
- Ensuring the city’s cultural offer is diverse, inclusive and accessible, and residents from all parts of the city can participate in cultural activity.
If you are someone with the following knowledge, experience, and skills, we are keen to hear from you:
- Knowledge of the key issues and opportunities affecting the cultural and creative sectors.
- Managing multiple, diverse external partnerships and stakeholders in an inclusive and accessible way.
- Experience identifying emerging investment opportunities for further sector development and preparing successful funding bids.
- Experience of policy and strategy development.
- Able to produce complex reports for internal and external purposes.
