The Brighton & Hove Culture Alliance exists to maximise the power of collaboration to achieve its strategic ambitions and create more, and more equitable, opportunities across the creative and cultural sector in the city. You can find out further details about the priorities and strategies of the Brighton & Hove Culture Alliance here.
It is based on the belief that arts, culture and creativity are foundational to the identity of the city, and that through partnership and collaboration, creative organisations and workers can be better supported to thrive and contribute to its prosperity.
This has evolved out of the ABCD Cultural Recovery Programme that ran from April 2021-December 2022 and raised over £500k for creative projects in Brighton & Hove. Evaluation reports on the outcomes of the ABCD programme are available to read here.
Culture Allies are individuals, organisations, groups, other networks and alliances who recognise the joint value of collaboration with and across the cultural sector. We’re not only looking for those already working the creative sector, but also allies from other industries that would like to connect. Joining us will position and align you with the creative and cultural sector in the city, and offer the opportunity to contribute to change-making projects with other allies and organisations.
It is important that more people have opportunities to inform, shape and respond to the work of the Brighton & Hove Culture Alliance. To support this, the second half of our Culture Action Group meetings, where speakers will be invited will be open to all Allies to join. We particularly encourage people less familiar with these strategic conversations to come and find out more.
