Space to Grow consultation workshops

Help us protect, improve and secure new cultural and creative spaces in Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove is a hive of creativity, but the creative ecosystem faces challenges; from limited availability of space, to closures of independent venues.

To help us change this, we would like to invite you to a series of workshops focused on protecting, improving, and securing new cultural and creative spaces in Brighton & Hove. The workshops are part of the ABCD Plan for Cultural Recovery, that has brought together sector representatives and council officers as part of the Space to Grow working group, and are organised by the WMT Urban Research Unit.

Protect!

How can we better protect cultural and creative spaces?
Tuesday 1st November, 5pm-7pm
Bottega Rooms, Enterprise Point, BN2 3LH

Improve!

How could Brighton & Hove make more of existing spaces?
What new cultural and creative spaces are needed?
Thursday 3rd November, 5pm-7pm
The Old Market, 11A Upper Market St, BN3 1AS

Secure!

How do we secure new cultural and creative spaces?
Thursday 10th November, 5pm-7pm

The workshops are for cultural space providers, creative organisations and freelancers, representatives of cultural sector groups, planning and development professionals, and other stakeholders. The learnings from the workshop will help us plot the way forward and build the case for protecting and improving the existing, as well as delivering new cultural and creative spaces in Brighton & Hove. We would be thrilled to see you!
